Let me introduce myself
My name is Felicia Zeven. I am a Dutch psychologist from a multi-cultural background and I am pleased to be able to offer my solid background of over 7 years of professional experience in therapy. With my first background education in neuroscience, I started studying psychology as a way to understand myself better and later to help people on their way to self-development and self-exploration. I have lived in several countries and I have worked with expats from all over the world. Therefore I have had the privilege of working with diverse individuals from all walks of life, each with their unique challenges and aspirations. The opportunity to guide, support, and witness their personal growth and transformation has been both fulfilling and humbling.
Beyond the realm of psychology, I find my inspiration and strength in the world of boxing. I started boxing years ago as a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle and I noticed that it started changing me mentally in various ways. I started noticing my emotions more and dealing with them in a different way. I also felt more self-confident and I started wondering if the sport could be a great complementary tool next to the traditional therapy approaches that I was already applying. The controlled chaos of boxing serves as a metaphor for the challenges we face in our daily lives, reflecting the resilience, discipline, and determination required to overcome obstacles. My passion for boxing has not only enriched my understanding of human psychology but also granted me valuable insights into treating various themes. By integrating my profound appreciation for boxing with my psychological expertise, I am dedicated to guiding individuals towards holistic well-being, personal growth, and the realisation of their full potential.
My style is warm, playful and non-judgmental. I create a save space in which you can express yourself and discuss whatever is concerning you. I am also part of the LGBTQIA+ community. People from my community have a special place in my heart.
I create a safe space. Where you can grow and thrive. Where you can explore issues. Where you can talk freely.
My sessions are attuned to your needs and preferences. They’re dynamic and structured around clear, concrete, and achievable goals.
I draw from my knowledge of modern therapeutic practices. CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy), EMDR, Positive Psychology, Boxing-therapy and Neuroscience.
We will focus on you accepting and daring to be you. Because this means finding contentment and harmony with your partner, work, family, and life.
With my support, you will gain insight. Into your thoughts, emotions, behaviour, and physical sensations.
You shall build resilience. And equip yourself with tools to face your feelings with my help.
4 things I love doing when I am not working:
Be surrounded by nature with nobody around. It allows me to disconnect from my mind and tune into my body.
Travel and explore (new food, cultures, and people). Feeling the joy of diversity and the beauty of difference.
Going to boxing trainings a few times a week. It makes me feel fulfilled and attunes me to my strengths.
Focus on new courses. I always love learning more about the world and developing new skills.
